Note from the Editors

As always, this season has brought the familiar and the unexpected: nights staring out at the twinkling lights of far-off academic buildings, premature gusts of snow, even a gray stray cat that languidly stretched its way into hearts of faculty and students alike.

In this issue, we hope that you are able to un-earth and cherish that same sense of comfort and discovery. Whether drifting into “the long nap” in Dylan Buckser-Schulz’s poem “Tutorial” or meeting the gaze of strangers in Oscar Lledo Osborn’s flash fiction “Com- mute, or Going From Place to Place,” embrace moments in which time seems to slow. Sink your eyes into riots of color like Caitlin Blanksteen’s painting “Blue” and the gleaming shapes and patterns of Anna Totilca’s sculpture “Divine Consciouscness.” Feast on every plot twist, line break, and paint stroke or pen streak.

The two of us have spent a fair amount of time hunched in front of the desktops in the Media Suite, scrutinizing drafts for typos and misaligned images, but the imaginative work before you was gifted to us by others. It is their time in the studio, their angle of the camera, and their cursor hovering over a word that fills these pages. Join us in celebrating their dedication—our dedication—to bringing that beauty to the Hamilton community and beyond.

Thank you for everything,

Sydney & Dana
